Rave ‘n’ Crave Wednesday: A Gratitude Journal and Vision Board

This is a very big week for me. Sunday is my birthday and I’ve already received one of the biggest and best birthday presents ever. It has been a long time in the making and I couldn’t be more grateful or ecstatic. I keep waking up in the morning with a huge grin and my face and I’ve found myself (so far) dancing and singing around the house, in the car, and at the grocery store.

I received a call earlier in the week that I had gotten a new job! Not just any job mind you. A job that puts me on a career path towards something that I very much wish to pursue for a major organization whose mission is to give away money for the common good. I will be working for a foundation that is making a positive difference in the world and I really couldn’t be happier.

Shortly, after I accepted the offer, I found myself in Tar-zhay (Target) looking for a notebook. At my eye level was a small beautiful fall orange-colored gratitude journal. I rolled my eyes, picked it up, and started thumbing through it. “What in the world would I do with a gratitude journal?” I thought to myself. The pages were sprinkled with positive and inspiring quotes with great ideas to focus on and write about. It even encourages you to do kind things for others without expecting anything in return which is something that I already try to do every day. This was the only gratitude journal left and it must’ve been just sitting waiting for me to come along.

I work extremely hard to focus on the positive things in my life. While I can’t say I was thrilled with my old job, I was (and still am) grateful for the wonderful people I have met and the many life lessons I have learned along the way.

gratitude journal quote on lifeI am a firm believer that you must remain positive in order to attract good things towards you. The results you want won’t happen immediately so you must be patient and keep focusing on your ultimate goals. Years ago, I created a board in my bedroom with all the things I wanted for myself and to accomplish with my life. Only later did I find out that I had created a vision board. I add to it occasionally and look at it every day. Getting my new job took care of three items on my vision board and puts me in a position to achieve four or five more within the year.

It took years for me to get to this wonderful place in life that I am in now. There is no way that I would be where I am now if it had not been for the many lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’m grateful for all of my experiences and will start keeping track of all the amazing things that will now drastically change my life from here on out in my gratitude journal.

Now, I am off to dream about what to do with my four weeks of paid time off a year and plan out my savings plan for the house I will finally be able to buy! Be grateful for what you have now and patiently focus on the things in life that you wish to accomplish. You can have anything you want in the world and long as you stay positive and focus on what you want for yourself.

Do you have a vision board or a gratitude journal? If not, you should! 😉
